It's about exploring the intersection of three disciplines.
- First, public relations, which I view (as did Edward Bernays) as an applied social science. In this regard, I'm heavily influenced by the concepts of social capital and sociodrama.
- Second, risk communication, especially the sub-genre of outrage managment, as conceived and developed by Peter M. Sandman.
- Third, social theory, as it applies to public relations and risk communication. I am especially influenced by the work of current European PR theorists.
